I wanted to share a new program that is available to residents of Lewis and Clark County (and a few other counties, too), that is a brand new, innovative way to help make homeownership attainable for neighbors in our county. It utilizes grant dollars and other funding sources to put an equity share model to work. It brings me hope to see new models for getting into real estate emerge.
If you are thinking you're ready to become a homeowner, but worry about the downpayment and closing costs, this could be that support you need to buy.
Some high points:
1) Only some lenders are approved--website shares participating lenders.
2) Must be in an approved county (L & C is a go!)
3) Must be between 60%-140% of area median income (AMI) and will only be required to contribute 1% of the purchase price from own funds
4) Must understand and agree to equity share
Reach out if you want to chat about it or if you know someone that might be a good fit -- please share this link with them.
